'eremos' - an ancient Greek word for 'desert' or a solitary place, such as where a hermit or anchorite might live.
The most 'famous' hermits were perhaps the Desert fathers, but what is a hermit these days? Very few of us would wander deep into a desert and most of us probably mix more with other people. Perhaps 'hermit' is no longer the right word, perhaps 'solitary' is more appropriate
As someone who enjoys spending a significant portion of my life alone and who is inspired by the Desert Fathers and the like, I have decided to start this online diary to share a few thoughts. images and quotes along the way. I hope you enjoy them.
'influences' include the solitary monks of Mount Athos, Julian of Norwich, Thomas Merton, St Paisios, St Nektarios, The Carthusians and many more, including non 'official' religious people like Bob Lax.
